I am a Georgia girl and a Spelmanite. I received my law degree from Loyola New Orleans College of Law and have been practicing law for thirteen years. I am very active in my community as a member of the Junior League of Douglas County as well as mentoring young women from elementary school to college graduates. I am also very active in my church.

 

I love, sports, politics, and to laugh out loud. I am also very close to my family. My relationship with my grandparents and experience with their lack of planning is what brought me to the world of estate planning and probate.

 

I am passionate about educating and empowering families to make different decisions that can literally change the trajectory of their family through estate planning. I believe my work is not just a career but also a calling. I want to help as many people protect their legacy and build generational wealth through their planning.

 

This work is a labor of love for me and I hope each client feels that in every interaction they have with me from the initial consultation to the closure of their case.

I am a planner. It’s in my blood. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a person to make checklist, outlines and detailed plans. (You should have seen the spreadsheets for planning my wedding. They were epic). Now every day, I get to help families create estate and long-term care plans to protect those that they love the most. It’s really my dream job.

 

I consider myself an Atlanta girl. We moved here when I was four. I attended Douglass High (Go Astros!), Emory University and Penn State for law school. I found Pennsylvania to be way too cold, so I came right back to Atlanta.

 

I transitioned to estate planning, after the person I loved the most, my grandmother, died suddenly, leaving my father in a long and bitter conflict with his siblings over land that had been in the family for several generations. It’s my mission to help other families avoid the heartache we had to endure.

I came to Edward Jones in 2018 because I want to help investors work toward achieving what is important to them. As a graduate of South Carolina State University, I learned the importance of financial literacy and the opportunity to empower others. I hold a bachelor's and an MBA in business administration. I am also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. My passions are education, wealth strategies, mentoring and financial literacy.

Sandra Brown is an attorney in the Entertainment & Sports practice group at Greenspoon Marder LLP. She focuses on strategic business counseling to clients and their business and management teams.  She works with a broad spectrum of talent, including award-winning recording artists, music producers, songwriters in Hip Hop, Pop, Rock, and Christian music, as well as independent filmmakers, music managers, music executives, professional athletes and entertainment companies. Much of Ms. Brown’s practice focuses on structuring and negotiating agreements across the complex and often interconnected areas of recorded music, music publishing, live performances, television talent agreements, independent film production, merchandising, sponsorships and endorsements.

Before joining Greenspoon Marder, Ms. Brown was a partner at a mid-sized business law firm in Atlanta, representing clients in corporate, entertainment, and intellectual property matters. She also had her own practice for several years representing successful talent in her own entertainment industry. Prior to establishing her own practice, Ms. Brown spent five years as Of Counsel in the Entertainment Group of a large international law and started her legal career as the Associate Director of Business Affairs for the entertainment companies owned by hit music producer and Reality TV Producer, Jermaine Dupri.

Ms. Brown has taken an active role in shaping the entertainment law community. With radio appearances, national conference speaking engagements, and at various colleges and universities, including Georgia State University, Florida A&M University, and her alma maters, Florida State University, and Nova Southeastern University.

Adamma McKinnon is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She is a graduate of Emory University and John Marshall Law School. Prior to attending law school, she had the privilege of serving as a teacher for Atlanta Public Schools for seven years. She provided education to middle school students in the areas of Science and Language Arts. Her ability to educate and deduct simplicities from complex content have ensured her success as an attorney, no matter the area of the law.

Because of her love and intrigue with the entertainment industry, specifically music, Attorney McKinnon sought to cultivate a legal career in the arts, providing services to performing artists, producers, managers, radio personalities, alike. In providing such services, she quickly found that her skills and reputation for "closing the deal" lead to referrals to the industry's family members, employees, colleagues, and friends alike.
